William “Jerry” Gibson, 82, of Equality, passed away November 28, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Gibson; parents, William and Georgia Gibson; siblings, Evelyn “Bill” Dillard, Eleanor Whittington, Joy Carlisle, Jean Barnes and Jessie Paulk.
Jerry is survived by his children, William Jerry Gibson II (Beverly), Sonny Davis (Melinda), Vivian Rodrigues (Luis) and Linda Baxter (Randy). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jerry was raised in Montgomery and attended Sidney Lanier High school. In the 60’s he moved to Georgia to learn and develop transmission repairs with his uncle. He then came back to Montgomery where he worked and owned Gibson’s Transmission and met his wife Norma Jean. He was in the Army National Guard, a Mason and later in retirement he would spend his time at his home on Lake Martin.
Services for Jerry will be Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Leak Memory Chapel at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, 3001 Simmons Drive, Montgomery, Al 36108. Pallbearers will be Klem Paulk, Tommy Paulk, Jeffrey Paulk, Wade Paulk, Steve Whittington, Jimmy Whittington, Heath Baxter, Joseph Corley and Chase Davis.
