Douglas Franklin Aman, Sr. of Bolivia, N.C., departed this life on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord, being 84 years of age. He was born on June 9, 1935 in Sampson County to the late Frank Aman and the late Pearl Warren Aman. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Rose Norris Aman whom he married when he was 28 years old. In 1972, he moved to Oak Island where he started his own business, a small grocery store/gas station that he operated for many years. He was truly devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will truly be missed.
Doug leaves behind to honor his legacy, his three children: Doug Aman, Jr. and wife Kim of Albemarle, NC, Teresa Hewett of Southport, NC and Tracy Aman of Boiling Springs Lake, NC; seven grandchildren: Jared Marshall Aman, Garrett Douglas Aman, Trevor Graham Aman, Dustin Aman Hewett, Christina Brianna Poe, Brittani Lee Aman and Austin Graham Aman; brother: Mack Ray Aman of Oak Island, NC; sister: Vivian Faye Aman Crawley of Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral service to commemorate the life of Doug Aman, Sr., will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in the sanctuary of Mingo Baptist Church 1465 Mingo Church Road, Dunn, NC 28334 with Rev. Leon Tart presiding. He will be laid to rest in the Mingo Baptist Church Cemetery with Jared Aman, Garrett Aman, Trevor Aman, Dustin Hewett, Austin Aman and Nick Difoggio serving as pallbearers.
