With sad hearts and sorrow we announce the passing of Judith Valdine Gustafson at the age of 78. She passed away under palliative care, at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, on December 7th, 2019 with family at her side.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Sylvia (Sigurdson) Bynski and her brother Bruce. She is survived by Oscar, husband of 51 years; their son Paul and daughter Valdine (husband Geordie) McEwen; grandsons Dakota, Cadham, Fenton and Anders; and her sisters Joyce (John Longe) and Allyson (Ziggy Magerowicz) along with many nieces and nephews.
Judy was a volunteer in her early years, at the Kenora Armories and St. John’s Ambulance. Through her tireless efforts with St. John’s Ambulance, she was recognized to the of Order of St. John provincially in 1965 & 1991 and federally in 1967, 1975, & 1978. She also enjoyed a career working in estate law at the law office of Jack K. Doner and was an active member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church. Her undying faith supported her through the years and provided her with comfort in the last days.
She loved spending time with her family. She loved cooking. There was always a new recipe to learn and taste. Judy was loved by so many. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.

A Service will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on December 19th, 2019 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating with refreshments to follow.
