She was born June 1, 1928 in New London, Connecticut, to the late Fred and Florence (McClure) White.
Freda was a 1946 graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She married her husband, Charles Edgerton, in September of 1949. Together, they raised their two children, Carol and Reid.
In addition to her time as a mother and wife, she enjoyed volunteering at the Edith Wheeler Library in Monroe and the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport. She was also an avid tennis player and golfer.
Freda leaves behind her husband, Charles Edgerton, her daughter Carol (Geoffrey) Briand and son Reid (Kelly) Edgerton, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Briand and Peter (Christina) Briand, and Sara, Emily and Chloe Edgerton and great-grandchildren, Derrick, Haley, Ethan and William Briand. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Edgerton.
