Henry D. Faubion, 98, of Waco, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019. Henry was the oldest son of Henry Franklin and Delphia Dee (Johnson) Faubion on August 13, 1921 in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas. He was the second oldest of six children. Henry had an older sister and four younger brothers; Frances, Dick, Clarence, Alvin and Marvin.
Henry married in Waco, McLennan County, Texas on September 1, 1942 to Ruby Christine Robinson, the daughter of William and Maude Robinson of Moody, Texas. He was 21 and Ruby was 17 years old, sixteen days later Henry entered the Army – a short honeymoon. On September 16, 1942, Henry entered the Army. He was a Lineman, Marksman Rifleman, Distinguished Unit Badge World War II, Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and Bronze Star Medal; he served his country for over 3 years.
Henry was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church in Robinson, Texas. The majority of his career was with the VA Medical Center where he worked in the Boiler Room. After retiring from there he went to work for Star Tex Propane until his final retirement time. He was preceded in death by his wife; Ruby, daughter; Carolyn, sister; Frances and brothers; Dick, Marvin and Alvin.
He is survived by one brother; Clarence Faubion, daughter; Nancy Scott and her husband, Frank, son; Billy Faubion and his wife, Sue, son; Jack Faubion, grandson; Roddy Scott, granddaughters; Mary Kay Simcik, Kristi Kirk, and Ginny Allen, 7 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
