Joe was born in Edam, Saskatchewan, on February 16, 1931, the youngest of five sons. Joe married the Love of His Life, Patricia Catherine McKinney, on Oct 29, 1951, and lived in Regina for many years. Joe became known for his home renovations and in the late sixties he built a house in Swift Current that the family enjoyed for 2 years before their move to Kelowna.
Joe and Pat moved their family of seven children from Saskatchewan to Kelowna in 1969. Joe left the Saskatchewan Power Corp to work in the City of Kelowna’s Electrical Department. He finished as Assistant Superintendent in 1991 having given 22 years of dedicated service. He and his family lived in the Mission, East Kelowna, and Rutland areas.
Joe leaves behind his seven proud children: Harry, Judy-Anne (Ken) Blacke, Joseph Jr. (Shawna), John (Barb), Catherine (Elmer), Thomas and Gregory (Zane); and grandchildren: Bernard (Rae-Lynn) Fraser, Michael and Matthew Blacke, Lucus (Jaymie), Bradley Bristowe and Taylor Howes; and great grandchildren: Hunter & Ronin, Nealen & Simon, and Dayton Fraser. Joe also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
Joe was predeceased by his Wife Pat in 2014; his parents Dr. William & Eva Fraser and siblings: George (Shirley), Bill (Arlene), Ken (Rita), and Gene (Daisy) and his grandson Mark Fraser and nephew Geody Fraser.
The Prayer Vigil will be at 6:00 pm January 7, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Church on Sutherland Ave. The Funeral Mass on January 8th will be celebrated at 10:00 with Fr. Cerlouie Jimenez officiating.
Cremation will follow with private family Interment at a later date.
