Richard Lee Giallombardo, 69 of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 23, 1950 in Gary, Indiana to John Giallombardo and Jacquelin (nee: VanLieu) Nightengale. He is a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army and was awarded the National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medal, to name a few. Some of his qualifications included Parachutist Badge, Expert Qualifications Badge with a Rifle, Mortar and Grenade Bar.
He is survived by his loving family including, his daughter Davina Giallombardo; son Richard Giallombardo;
granddaughters, Hailey and Skyler; two brothers, Bob and John; five sisters, Connie, Barbara, Pam, Jacque and Cathy; cousins, Sonny and Donna; and several nieces and nephews.
His family said he was a very caring and loving person, who was loved by so many people.
Services will begin at 1:30pm on Wednesday, January 8th at the South West Florida Military Museum, 4920 Leonard Street, Cape Coral, FL 33904 239-541-8704, with Military Honors by American Legion Post 90, Cape Coral.
