Bettie Jo Gunter of San Antonio Texas went to be with the Lord on Jan 6, 2 020 at the age of 77. She was born in Yakima, Washington on February 15, 1942 to Joseph and Florence Matterson. She was the oldest of four children. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her daughter Terri Stiles, and her sister Charlene Hensley.
She is survived by her daughter Jodie Melver, son in law Christopher Melver from San Antonio, son Ron Stiles (Debbie) from California, sister Patti Matterson from California, brother David Matterson from Arizona, grandson Logan Melver, granddaughter Kara (Dallas) Andrews and great granddaughter Athena Andrews, as well as many nieces & nephews.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who would do anything possible to make sure her kids and grandkids knew they were loved. She loved spending time with family and friends over meals and fun activities. She loved the lord with all her heart. She was enjoying her retirement dedicating her time to Village Parkway Baptist Church. She loved serving in the Women’s Ministry, Prayer Sisters, and anything else she could get involved in at church.
