She was born in Hoi Ping, China on June 18 1930. At the age of 19, she married our father Fred Kwan and immigrated to Vancouver, B.C. on Jan 25th 1951. She received her Canadian Citizenship in 1956.
She excelled in hosting large Ma Jong dinner parties and was the envy of the neighbourhood with the growing of winter melons in her garden. Her cooking was amazing as was her sewing of clothes for the grandchildren. She traveled with friends throughout the world.
Yee is survived by Don (Donna), May (Gay), Sam (Val), Gordon (Jean), Tom (Katherine), Rosa (James) and Les (Sheila), 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and extended family and friends in Vancouver and San Francisco.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred, brother Soon Wu, daughter Betty, step son David.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at 4th east Geriatrics and 4th west of Mount Saint Joseph for the care and support she received.
An Evening Visitation will occur on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral home (3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby, BC 604-299-7720). A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the same location as above.
