Carmello "just be cool" Julio Mandarino age 86, took his last breath on January 6, 2020 with a full heart and promise to see "the boss" his beloved wife the late Johanna again. He survived her almost two years to the day.
Carmen was born July 1, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Michael and Mary Mandarino. He married his Army pen pal Johanna on July 27, 1957. Carmen worked in the Sheet Metal Industry at Tempco for most of his life where he developed many lifelong friendships. Carmen is a veteran of the United States Army.
Beloved father of Diana (John) Shook, Ann Marie (Dan) Muldoon, Michael (Cathy) Mandarino, Shelli (Roger) Kimble, John (Lori) Mandarino, the late Carolyn (John) Lastic. Loving grandfather of thirteen, great grandfather of five. Carmen was predeceased by his brother Sam, and his sisters, Angela, Bessie, and Annie.
Sam/Carm/Gumbadi/Papa/Dad/ Big Pups or whatever name you knew him by, you knew you were blessed to have him in your life. Today eat a whole box of Cheezits, share a bowl of Butter Pecan ice cream with a loved one, or watch a John Wayne Movie and smile at strangers in his honor.
The family will receive friends on Saturday February 1, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until time of memorial service 11:00 a.m. St. Vincent Ferrer Church 28253 Herbert Street Madison Heights, Michigan 48071. In lieu of flowers memorials to donor’s choice.
