Fuk Wo Cheung was born in Kit Ma Village in Yun Ping, China on February 26, 1922. She was married in 1940 to Kee Yuk Cheung at Lai Tong Village when she was 18 years old. They had 5 kids before she moved in1956 to the City of Guangzhou and there she stayed till 1958 when she moved to Hong Kong. It wasn’t until 1967 that she immigrated to Vancouver, Canada where she spent the remainder or her life.
Over the years she worked as a home maker, seamstress, farm hand, kitchen staff, and grocery store owner. Her hobbies include gardening, Mah Jong, Video Games such as Dr. Mario and Tetris. She also spent a lot of time looking after her grandchildren.
She was always such a sweet, kind, and hard working person. She always thought about others before herself. Everyone who would meet her thought she was friendly, likable, and funny. She would always play along and joke with us and tell us interesting stories from her past. She also loved kids and her face would light up when she saw them, especially when she got to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In 2015, she accepted Jesus at an outreach event and attended church when she could at Vancouver Chinese Pentecostal Church.
She lived a long healthy life and passed away surrounded by family on January 02, 2020. She is survived by her 5 children, 21 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren who all love her dearly.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 10:00am at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Cheung family by clicking on the "Share a Memory".
