Lori Walsko, age 65, died of pancreatic cancer on January 13, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family. She fought bravely for over a year and did not waste one minute making memories with her friends and family that will last a lifetime.
Lori was born on December 23, 1954 in Gary, Indiana to parents Domenic and Shirley Bonta. She graduated from Crown Point High School. She worked as a Computer Operations Administrator for the IRS in the Criminal Investigation Division in both Indiana and Florida, where she retired in 2016. Afterwards, she and her husband moved to The Woodlands, Texas to be close to her children and grandchildren.
Lori was a talented artist, especially with oil painting. Her other list of talents are too numerous to count, and included cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and took care of everyone in her life. Lori loved God and her church and enjoyed serving through her Monday group. She loved hosting friends and family in her home and had a true gift for hospitality. Her friends and family will always remember her as being kind, generous, gentle, strong and loving.
Lori is survived by her husband, Chuck Walsko; daughter, Denise Griffin; son, Aaron Claypool; son-in-law, Stephen Griffin, daughter-in-law, Cathy Claypool; three beautiful grandchildren, Leah, Molly and Nicholas; and their faithful dog, Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Domenic and Shirley Bonta, and her brothers, David and Tony Bonta.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 18 at 2:00 at Spirit of Joy! Lutheran Church at 7550 Crownridge Drive in The Woodlands, TX, 77382 with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lori’s beautiful life.
