Fortunato Indomenico, 78, of Newington, beloved husband of Nella (Lentinello) Indomenico, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Fortunato was born on December 12, 1941, in Solarino, Sicily and was the son of the late Timoleonte and Giuseppina (Carrubba) Indomenico. Fortunato worked as an electrician all his life. As project manager for several organizations with contracts in many countries, his work brought him to Africa, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Iraq, Milan, Napoli and Taranto. He loved fishing, gardening, writing poetry and trips to the casino and horse track. Fortunato was full of life, and will be remembered for his elegance, charm and class and could always be relied on to give good advice. An avid sports fan, he was a fanatic of the Inter Soccer Team and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Fortunato will be forever missed by his son, Timoleonte Indomenico and his wife Sonia of Wethersfield, his daughters, Giuseppina Indomenico of Wethersfield, Amalia Indomenico and her husband Michael Oddo of Middletown, Loredana DiPaola and her husband Marcello of Newington, Maria Luisa Indomenico of Newington and Fortunella Indomenico and her husband Robert Cupial of Newington. Fortunato also leaves ten beloved grandchildren, Sebby, Nico, Joseph, Laura, Marco, Luca, Alessandro, Davide, Carissa and Bianca, along with his three cherished great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Ariana and Vincent and four brothers, Arnaldo, Enzo, Roberto and Giovanni Indomenico. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Maria, Giuseppe, Salvatore and Paolo Indomenico.
Funeral services will begin on Friday (January 17) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
