Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother gained her angel wings on Wednesday, January 22nd at Eden Hill Communities, where she lovingly called home her last few years. She was ready to join the love of her life, Gussie, who preceded her in death and
whom she dearly missed.
Evelyn Kanz Kaderli was born on February 11, 1924 in Comal County to Erwin and Dora (Dierks) Kanz. She married Gustav Kaderli on April 11, 1942, in New Braunfels, where together they raised their two children. Evelyn left a legacy of love in 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 6
great-grandchildren (one more on the way!).
Family was very important to Evelyn and she was proud of them all ... children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were most often part of conversations she would have with those around her. She was happiest when everyone could gather together and looked forward to the Sunday visits that included her beloved golden retriever grandogs, Willa and Birdie, who always had treats waiting in their special bowl.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Dennis and Janie Kaderli of New Braunfels, and Janet and Allen Baetge of Houston; her grandchildren, Sarah Flores (Albert), Allison Nitsch (Jason), Andrea Baetge (Michael Edwards), and Jonathan Kaderli (Ali). Also surviving her are her 6
great-grandchildren; Emily, Rachel, Jackson, Austin, Ava, and Joe. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Gus, her parents Erwin and Dora Kanz, and her sister, Vivian Schulle.
Evelyn truly enjoyed the company of her friends; gathered around the kitchen table, a day trip to Fredericksburg, or just a weekly phone call. Until just a few years ago, several of her friends would gather at her home every Saturday morning for their "Starbucks Kaffee Klatsch", where they would reminisce about old times and surely solved all the world's problems. And, those who were fortunate to visit her home during the holidays always left with the warm feeling of the
Christmas Spirit, where just about every room in the house was adorned with unique Christmas decorations. When she moved to Eden Hill, she would have loved to take every bit of it, but settled with just a few of her favorite things that made her room one of the most welcoming to others during Christmastime.
The family would like to thank Jamie Green, Tyrome Higgins, and the entire staff at Eden Hill, for making Evelyn's last few years of life full of love and care.
Services will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice, 611 N. Walnut Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130 or Eden Hill Communities, 631 Lakeview Blvd, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
