Funeral services for Ronnie Ritchie will be held on Monday, February 3rd, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. His family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020, beginning at 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Holland Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Ronnie Ritchie was born on Saturday, October 11th, 1941 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Clifford and Wilma Ritchie. He met and married Sue Nell Hendricks, March 1st, 1963. For nearly 57 years they have celebrated this life. He worked a variety of jobs, iron worker, rancher, farming and truck driving. His talent and passion was in farming and ranching. He was particularly interested in Horticulture, growing fabulous vegetable and flower gardens. He passed this “Green Thumb” on to his children and grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors, watching birds, hunting and enjoying nature. He was a member of the Tahlequah Roundup club for over thirty years, loved horseback riding, and gathering cattle. He will be deeply missed by his many friends, family, and all who knew him. Ronnie Ritchie, farmer, rancher, and lifelong resident of Cherokee County died peacefully in his sleep on January 30th, 2020, at the age of 78 years, surrounded by those who knew and loved him most, his family.
He is survived by his wife Sue of the home, his children, Paula and Chad McFarland of Tahlequah, and Steven and Kathy Ritchie of Tahlequah, his grandchildren, Cristin and Mark Bridges of Ft. Gibson, Colton and Taylor McFarland of Tahlequah, and Chloe McFarland of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves his great grandchildren, Hunter, Remington and Pistol Bridges, and Braxton and Lainey McFarland. Brothers include Jimmie and Nelda Ritchie of Keys, OK, Clifford and Jamie Ritchie of Tahlequah, and Danny Joe Ritchie of Ft. Gibson. Sisters include Alice and Estel Tidwell of Keys, OK, Gail Morgan of Tahlequah, OK, Donna and Richard Welch of Tahlequah, OK, Marsha Morgan of Muskogee, and sister-in-law, Joyce Richie of Keys, OK. Brothers-in-law Rufus and Anita Hendricks of Tahlequah, Terry Hendricks of Tahlequah, Sisters-in-law Marilyn Ballard of Keys, Betty Stubbs of Muskogee, Shirley and Donnie McClure of Tahlequah, and Margie and Jay Stinnett of Tahlequah.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Wilma Ritchie, brother Freddie Ritchie of Keys, sister Linda Coker of Muskogee, brothers-in-law Richard Morgan of Tahlequah, and Gunter Hendricks of Tahlequah, and sister-in-law Becky Hendricks.
