Victor Interlandi born September 9, 1934 in Vizzini, Sicily to Maria and John Interlandi, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, February 1, 2020 with family. In 1950, at age 15, Victor, his parents and his sister Dina immigrated to the United States. He worked hard to overcome the language and cultural barriers to ingrain himself in his new home. In 1958, he completed his United States National Guard tour of duty, started his family and embarked on an amazing, successful and fulfilling 37-year career at Grumman Aerospace. As draftsman, Supt. Design Engineer and Electrical Mechanic Designer he worked intimately on the electrical test components of the F14 Tomcat, the E2C Hawkeye and A6 Intruder. He was especially proud that the company he worked for developed the space craft “The LEM” (Lunar Module) that enabled men to land on the moon and return home safely.
Steeped in tradition, he loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. And this year was so excited to welcome the newest Interlandi, his great granddaughter, Natalie Rose. Victor is survived by his son Paul and his wife Margaret; his son John and his wife Nicole; his loving grandchildren Nicholas and his wife Jackie, Victor, Dayna, Anthony and Michael; great-granddaughter Natalie. Loving brother of Dina Giordano, uncle of Marisa Smith and great-uncle of Alyssa. Cousin of Lucia and Giacomo.
Victor will be reposed, Tuesday, February 4th from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at CUSIMANO & RUSSO FUNERAL HOME, 2005 W 6 Street, Brooklyn, NY.
