Rosalea was born on October 16, 1934 in Colby, KS, the daughter of Charles and Rosa (Miller) Durham. She went to school in Gem, Kansas, was high school Co-Valedictorian, senior Vice President and played on the boys basketball team. She then went on and attended Business College in Aurora, CO. She worked as a bookkeeper for Coller Real Estate for almost 30 years. Starting in Orlando, FL, later in Bloomington, IN and recently in Castle Rock, CO, to be closer to her daughter Barbara and family. Donald Coller and The Coller Family were a very important part of Rosalea’s life. The family is ever so grateful for all of their generosity and love over the years.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. However, some of Rosalea's most memorable times were spent deep sea fishing with her son Steve, nightly bingo with her Bloomington friends and beating her friends and family in various card games. She enjoyed gardening and making mousse & pickles for her friends and family. She never turned down a good pot of coffee, chocolate of any kind and of course a glass of wine. She also had a wicked sense of humor, which everyone loved her for.
She is survived by her brother Augie (August) Durham, Colby, KS, her children Steve (Connie) Johnson, Viera, FL , Barbara (David) Sullivan, Castle Rock, CO, Ted (Jody) Johnson, Eustin, FL, Christine (Steven) Russel, Mason City, IA., and step-daughter, Linda (Ken) Meister, Lakewood, CO., along with 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, her parents, her five siblings, Clara, Norma, Elta, Ella, Charley, one beloved daughter, Susan and two loved grandsons, Stephen Jr. and David.
We all love and will miss her deeply !! As per Rosalea's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in Florida at her favorite deep sea fishing location in March 2020.
