Roberto Luis Alberty, 44, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on February 4, 2020. He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on December 20, 1975 and moved to south Florida when he was three years old. Roberto lived in Coral Springs, Florida and graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 1994 where he met the love of his life Dori Leigh Tuck while working together at McDonald’s. The two of them were inseparable from the moment they met and were married in Tallahassee, Florida on July 8, 2000.
He worked as a pest control technician for 20 years at Capelouto - Terminix and was loved by many of his customers and coworkers over the years. Roberto had a passion for cars and racing. For several years, Roberto traveled with his family to the Daytona 500, and he also took Stock Car Racing classes and got to be out on the track himself in both stock cars and Indy cars. The smile on his face when he got out of a race car sure was a sight to see.
Roberto and Dori loved to travel and have been to 47 out of 50 states plus 13 countries together. One of their favorite memories was traveling to Puerto Rico together on their honeymoon. They took epic road trips and saw 15 National Parks across the entire country. A few of their favorites were Yellowstone, Glacier, Acadia, and Arches. Together, they also loved camping, going to the beach, boating, shopping, and listening to music.
Roberto is survived by his children Autumn Leigh Alberty, 13, and Alex Cole Alberty, 12. Roberto said the day he became a father was one of the best days of his life, and he loved being a dad. He often chaperoned field trips, went on Cub Scouts camping trips, always took Autumn to the Daddy/Daughter dance, went to countless dance competitions and recitals, attended too many soccer games to count, played video games, rode roller coasters, played on the playground, and loved on his kids.
He is also survived by his brother Angel Alberty (Rachel Alberty) and his nieces Claire Alberty and Angeles Alberty, mother Ana Alberty, and father Robert Alberty. Roberto will severely be missed by Dori’s whole family, who he was very close with – sister-in-law Brandi Tuck (Michael Louzao), brother-in-law Matt Tuck (Katie Tuck), niece Haley Tuck, and parents-in-law John and Kathie Tuck.
Funeral arrangements will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Culley’s Meadow Wood Funeral Home located at 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL, 32312. The service is at 5pm, with reception to follow at 6pm.
