November 15, 1947 – February 3, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Rebello announces his passing after a valiant 21-year fight with prostate cancer. He was 72 years old.
Bill will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Marlene and his children, Paul (Tom), David (Coco), and Tiffany (Michael) Drobny. Bill will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Braiden, Luna, Gabriel, Eden, Zachary, and Emilia, his sister Joyce (George) Mederios, and his brothers, Stan (Jeanette), and Ron (Chris). Bill was predeceased by his sisters, Geraldine Emery, Elaine Royal, and Delinda Rebello.
Bill was born in San Jose, California on November 15, 1947 to Jeronimo and Sylvia Rebello. He grew up in the Niles district of Fremont and attended Logan High School in Union City. After graduation, Bill enlisted in the Army National Guard. In 1972, he and his brothers partnered into a successful grocery business—which spanned up and down California—first with Rebello’s Markets, and later as Food4Less. Bill and his brothers’ thriving success would last for nearly 30 years.
Bill enjoyed many hobbies including traveling the globe with his wife Marlene, entertaining his friends, laughing with family and grandchildren, collecting antiques, crawling the rocks of the Rubicon Trail, cajoling the streets of the French Quarter, raising Portuguese Water Dogs, and telling the most amazing stories ever.
