Peggy Ann Nichols was born June 16,1941 and passed away on February 8, 2020. Peggy was raised in east Texas and lived in Texas throughout her life. Peggy spent her adult years in Dallas, working as a social worker, as a valued part of Texas Child Protective Services form 1972-1998. She worked as an investigation caseworker for nearly 20 years and as a Supervisor of Investigations in her last years at CPS. Peggy was a greatly respected member of the CPS family over all those years. She was strongly committed to the children's safety. She was strongly committed to the children of Dallas county, and was effective in working with families to ensure children's safety. Peggy was known for her skill in recognizing abuse and neglect and taking action to provide services to clients. She also was a master at documenting her work in detail, with all important information carefully included. Peggy was also known for her sense of humor, her interest in modern art, and her love of her pet cats. Peggy had no immediate family at the time of her death, having been preceded in death by her parents. She was preceded in death by her long-time partner of 22 years, Rosemary Satterwhite in 1996, and the daughter they parented together, Rebecca Lindsey. She is survived by her many friends and her cats Prince, Hey Girl, Buddy, and Smoke. Peggy's Cremated remains will be buried next to Rosemary's and Rebecca's at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. A Celebration of Life will be held at a date not yet determined.
