Jimmie Colleen Morgan, 85, of McGregor Texas passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas and will be officiated by Reverend George Morgan, with Reverend Roscoe Harrison delivering the eulogy.
Jimmie was born on November 4, 1934, in McGregor, to Cal Davis Armstrong and Ethel (Beachem) Armstrong. She attended Carver High School, was homecoming queen, and graduated in 1954. Jimmie married George Ray Morgan on June 1, 1957. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Prairie View A&M University in Houston, Texas, was an elementary teacher for 32 years with Belton ISD, and coached basketball at Harris High School in Belton. She was a member of Roberson Chapel AME, in McGregor, a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and of The Ladies Sunshine Club. Jimmie loved to bake, create wedding cakes, fishing, and watching John Wayne movies. She loved the Lord and her family.
Preceding Jimmie in death were husband, George Ray Morgan; daughter, Velda Louise Morgan; and sister, Alma Booker.
Survivors include son, George Ray Morgan II and wife, Barbara; daughter, Vanessa Roulhac; grandson, Dennis Armstrong; granddaughters, Dominique Morgan, Danielle Morgan; great granddaughters, Ariel Morgan-Wilson, and Lily Morgan-Wilson.
