She was born January 7, 1937 in Washington, DC, to Mabel & Wilbur Jackson.
She graduated in 1986 with a degree in International Business studies with a minor in Finance.
She worked for the Department of Commerce for the better part of 40 years and was elevated from Foreign Trade analyst to the position of International Trade Specialist which seemingly parlayed her strengths to its fullest - which was having a keen ability to problem-solve and unravel the complexities and vast enormities of trade commerce and enterprise.
Mom truly lived her life to the fullest; she enjoyed going to symphonies at the Kennedy Center, traveling, tai chi, yoga, crossword puzzles, helping at her church, being with her friends and family as well as enjoying watching Jeopardy.
Mom was spiritual and touched others with her warmth, dedication and beautiful spirit.
It's with devotion, deepest love, and heartfelt respect that I write this along with a very heavy heart. For I know, she is with me along with serving God.
Mom is survived by her son, William Ruffin, her two sisters, Scarmell Webster and Fern Duncan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
I not only admired her for her incredible intuitiveness and intellect, but also her absolute commitment to walk with Christ in her daily life. She had a quiet dignity about her along with an understated modicum of class.
There won't be a single day that goes by that I won't think about her or admire her courage, inner strength and natural inclination to help others.
Her essence and tenets of her existence were always to walk in faith. I'll miss you Mom.
