Patricia Glenna Garcia (née Corcoran) passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, in Sugar Land, TX. Born January 28, 1945, in St. Louis, MO to the late Jack Corcoran and Mary Corcoran Thomann (née Burch) she graduated from Incarnate Word Academy. While attending the University of Missouri-St. Louis, she began working at McDonnell Aircraft where she met the love of her life, Juan Manuel Garcia, Jr. Her marriage adventure with Juan lasted 48 years and included decades as a proud naval aviator’s wife, 19 homes in 8 states, raising 5 children and the joy of 17 grandchildren. A social butterfly to the core, her favorite past time was getting to know others. She never met a stranger, and all were invited to her table. Devout in her Faith, she was dedicated to building the Hispanic community and volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul at St. Lawrence Parish in Indianapolis.
Loving mother of Juan (Denise) Garcia, Gina (Scott) Telles, Gabriela (Rob) Scott, Gregg (Michelle) Garcia, and Michael (Lauren) Garcia; joyful and adored “Big Mom” of Daniel, Isabel, Elena, Jack, Luke, Manny, Calista, Joseph, Lex, Alicia, Paddy, Olive, Zola, Auggie, Kelly, Lucy, and Emily; sister of Molly (Al) Kertz, Reenie (Bill) Hayes, Ed Thomann, Jim (Carol) Thomann, Joan (Eric) Fusselman; sister-in-law of Delores Farias, Mary Lou Garcia, and Myrna (Butch) Cortez; niece, aunt and cousin to many in the Burch, Corcoran, Garcia and Chapa clans; and friend to many across the country, from the Mojave desert to Cape Cod.
Services: Rosary Sun., Mar. 1, 2020 at 7 p.m. at the Scotts’ home, 3718 Meadow Spring Dr., Sugar Land, TX 77479. Funeral Mass Mon., Mar. 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th St, Missouri City, TX 77489. Patricia will be buried alongside her beloved husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
