Bill was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 21, 1957, to William (Bill) Cecil Anderton Sr. and Mona Sue T Anderton. Bill met the love of his life, Kathy Denise Anderton, sitting on a heater in the hallway of Stratford High School in 1976. He drove her home that day, and they have been inseparable ever since. He graduated from Stratford in the same year, and he and Kathy were married two years later on January 19, 1978. They were married 42 happy years, and raised one daughter, Kayla Marie Anderton.
Bill was an outgoing person, and he made friends wherever he went. He had a playful personality, and didn’t mind doing something silly if it got a laugh. He was a sports fan from a young age. He played basketball and football in school, coached his daughter, Kayla’s, little league teams, held season tickets with the Nashville Titans and Predators, and spent many Sunday afternoons tailgating with close friends at Titans games. He worked for Sherwin Williams Automotive for 44 years, and won numerous Master Council awards and tropical retreats for his accomplishments. He was a good friend, and a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy was in making sure that his wife and daughter were happy.
