at home in his 91st year. Survived by his devoted wife of 60 years,
Kinga. He will be missed by his loving sister Jacqueline of Sidney, BC,
son Paul and wife Angela of Raleigh, NC; daughter Monica and Mark of
London, grandchildren Tanner, Caleb, Miranda of London, Nieces and
Nephews Bart and wife Connie, Pauline, Kim, Bob, Diane, in Canada;
Margareth, Michael, Wilfred of Brazil; cousins Henry, Joyce, Ruud,
Ghislaine, Therese, Alice, Hanneke, Karen, Aleid, Beatrijs of The
Netherlands. Predeceased by father Frederik and mother Zwaantje of the
Netherlands, sister Alida (Alies) of BC, brother Hendrik (Henk) of
Brazil and son Anthony (Tony) of London.
Marco immigrated to Canada in 1949 and shortly after, started working at
Northern Electric Co. in Montreal. He was transferred to London in 1962.
He retired after 38 years with Nortel. He loved sailing, but with small
children, they started camping. He loved nature and the outdoors. During
his 60 years together with Kinga, they camped all throughout North
America as well as travelling to many places in Europe and Asia.
During his life, he made many friends. He was well known for his
kindness and always helping others. He did everything together with
Kinga and was a devoted Opa to his grandchildren. He will be terribly
missed by his family and his many friends.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of London Health
Sciences Centre (Victoria Hospital and University Hospital) as well as
the excellent palliative care provided by ParaMed and VON in making his
final months and weeks as comfortable as possible. Cremation has taken
place. A visitation will be held on Monday March 2nd at Needham Funeral
Service (520 Dundas Street) from 1pm to 3pm. A memorial service will
follow at 3pm.. Private Burial will be at a later date at St. Peter's
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Health Sciences
Foundation, Community Living London or the Hungarian Catholic Community
in care of St. Patrick's Church, 377 Oakland Ave, London.
