WADDEN, Marjorie Margaret “Marge” (Butler) Glace Bay. We are very sad to share our news that mom passed away very peacefully on February 12, 2020, with her family at her side. Mom was proud to be a daughter of the late Uriah & Margaret Butler of Mello St. She was especially proud of her family: Debbie Matheson (son Hubert Wadden), Nancy Currie (Kevin, sons Allan & Adam). Jim (children Tanya, Morgan & Matthew). Mom is survived by her sister, Daisy Kaifosh; brother, Wilson (Georgina); sister-in-law Patricia Butler-McPherson; many nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Susan Hiscock. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Laura Marsden-Harpell & Gertie Thomson; brothers Willie & Cecil; and granddaughter Sarah Lynn Currie. Nanny was a very loving grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family and always put family first. She loved watching her grandsons play hockey and listening to her favorite band ‘Highway 125’. She loved doing things for others. And she loved children. Mom lived her life with dignity. She loved a good laugh. She will be dearly remembered for her ‘beautiful baking’. Although she endured many days with Rheumatoid Arthritis, she was an impeccable crochetier and knitter. Anyone would be lucky to have been gifted one of her doilies, mittens or slippers. In younger years, she did some quilting and sewing. Marge was a longtime member of Branch 3 Wednesday Night Crib Club. She played darts regularly. She loved to play cards, going to dances, and even did some golfing. Our family would like to thank the many health care professionals who cared for her over the years. In honouring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2 until 5pm at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay. A celebration of mom’s life will be held on Monday at 11am also at Patten Funeral Home with Rev. Alison Etter officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery will take place in the spring. Family flowers only please. To honour her memory, donations may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank or a charity of your choice. “I want to walk. I want to dance. I want to have fun.”
