Thomas R. Kuchta

Thomas R. Kuchta, age 79, passed away peacefully February 13, 2020 in Lyndhurst. Born June 15, 1940 in Cleveland, he was a resident of Northfield for 20 years. Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an avid basketball player, and continued playing while attending both Benedictine High School and John Carroll University. He later went on to coach basketball at St. Paschal Baylon School in Highland Hts. and Nordonia High School. Tom worked as an Accountant, and during his leisure time enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool. He is survived by his son Gary (Lori); grandchildren Melissa and Brian Kuchta; sister-in-law Joanne Kuchta; nieces Karen Kuchta, Sheri Briggs, and Tina Dudley; and nephews Steven, James, and Larry Kuchta. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ladimir and Sophia (nee Korzep) Kuchta; brother Frank; and twin brother Richard (Patricia). Friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland on Sunday 2-6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am, Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland. Interment following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.
