Deborah Marie Romo, age 64, passed away peacefully January 24, 2020 in Long Beach, CA after a long battle with various health afflictions. She was born October 25, 1955 in Maywood, CA to Robert Romo Sr. and Mary Louise Anguiano. Deborah had four brothers: Robert Jr., Alex, Angel and, Frank; and two sisters: Cynthia and Sylvia. Deborah went on to have six children of her own: Yvette, Richard Jr., Valerie, Mark Jr., Michael, and Joanna.
Deborah loved gardening, cooking and baking as part of her hobbies. Some of her favorites were eating Chinese food and listening to country music. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and gave her life for Him. Deborah had a real joy for life. She had a silly demeanor and loved to laugh. She was a loving mother to her six children and enjoyed spending time with her large, extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. In previous years, Deborah worked as a medical assistant, as well as volunteered within ministries at her home church Rose of Sharon.
As the middle sister, Deborah enjoyed surprising her siblings. She would make Easter baskets for them when they were kids, and would place the baskets on their beds while they slept. In her preteen years, Deborah would stash candies in her dresser drawers and sell them to the neighborhood kids. She was quite resourceful and creative.
To be in the presence of Deborah was to witness her strength. She was a fighter who never gave up. Despite her health afflictions, she found strength in the love of her adult children, and remained interested in their lives despite her circumstances. Even in her latter years, Deborah was very sharp. She was a smart woman who learned brail in less than two years.
Deborah is survived by her children Yvette, Richard Jr., Mark Jr. and wife Michelle, Michael, and Joanna; grandchildren Daniel Jr., Karissa, Mikala and Madeline; father Robert Romo Sr. and wife Alma; siblings Robert Romo Jr. and wife Lisa, Alex Romo and wife Grace, Sylvia and husband Hector Morando, Cynthia Romo; sister-in-law Terrie Romo; and her many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
