She was born in central Kansas on July 27, 1929, the daughter of Fay and Lucky Sloan. She attended local public schools in the small towns of Great Bend and Coats. It was in the high school of Coats where Bette met her future husband, Warren Trock. They were happily married until 2008 when Warren died of complications of Parkinson’s disease. Bette remained a tireless supporter of Parkinson’s research thereafter.
Besides traveling with Warren to many places around the world, Bette’s life also revolved around her faith in the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a zealous member of her church and volunteered countless hours of her time in the door to door ministry and bible study. She loved to cook and was an exceptional baker and family get-togethers were always a culinary treat.
Bette is survived by her children, Daniel Trock, Rebecca Trock, Dave (Kim) Trock; grandchildren, Greg (Stina) Trock, Rebekah (Jon) McCarver, Alex Trock, and Anton Trock; great-grandchildren, Anthony (Cindy) Trock, Jadin McCarver, Brianna Crabb, and Meaghon Crabb.
Funeral arrangements and memorial services will be scheduled for a later date this summer, due to logistics in travel for overseas family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Parkinson’s Research Organization of your choice.
