She was born in Carbondale, PA. She grew up in Oneonta. She worked at the Enterprise Aluminum plant for 10 years and Fox Hospital as Linen Room Supervisor.
She moved to the Albany area where she worked at the Johnstown Hospital and the Turf Inn as Housekeeping Manager.
She moved to Pasadena,CA and Phoenix, AZ for several years.She worked at similar jobs.
Lois moved back to Oneonta to be with her family. Upon retirement she continued to work part time At Hartwick College.
Lois was a proud, caring and independent lady.She loved shopping at JCP and her daily walks. She did both until her early 90’s.
She lived at Nader Towers for 20 years. There she served as Floor representative. She enjoyed talking with her neighbors and was always ready to help if needed.
She spent the last few months at Delhi Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. There she was affectionately called the “princess”. The family wishes to thank all staff for their professional and compassionate care.
The family would also like to thank Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown for their loving care.
Lois is predeceassed by her 4 sisters, Dorothy Scott, Theora Merk, Sylvia Conigliaro , Doris Cooke and her brother Stuart Merk.
Lois is survived by her daughter Donna(Charles) Null, grandchildren Tracey Fraser and Timothy Null, and great granddaughter Jordan Fraser, and Nephew Leland Scott. Special thank you to her caring and compassionate nieces Regina, Shelia, Mickey and Stacey.
