Edsel Tackett age 72 of Homer passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at his home. He was born March 4, 1948 in Pikeville, KY the son of Columbus and Lilly (Little) Tackett and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Edith Mullins, Victor Tackett, Cathy Kirsch, Russell Tackett, Ginny Lutz, Sara Killingsworth, Phylis McDaniels, Jr. Tackett and nephew, Brent James Tackett, Jr.
Edsel served our country honorably and proudly in the U.S. Army and was a Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed fishing, small game hunting, his chickens and turkeys, old cars, but most of all he loved his family. They were his pride and joy.
He leaves to cherish his memory so many special family members: Sister, Glora Gerrity, sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Bob Batorff, very close sis-in-law, Ann Tackett, nieces and nephews that he loved and treated as his own: Brent Tackett, Sr., Kent Tackett, Timothy (Kay) Tackett, Tammy Konkol, Tonya (Daryl) Keifer, Brad Tackett, Russell Tackett; Grandfather figure to: Alex Keifer, Tyler Keifer, Blake Keifer, Caden Keifer, Casey Konkol, Kelsey Konkol, Edsel Avery, Travis Tackett, Justin Tackett, Ryan Tackett, Shane Lieter, Adam Tackett, Michael Tackett, Kirk Tackett, Trisha Meeks and so many other extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate Edsel’s life will be on Friday, March 13, 2020 with visitation beginning at 11AM until the time of his service at 1PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion with Bob Batorff and Jewell Burkwaldt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Homer.
