Deborah Jean Blakeney, 70, was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1949 to the late Alfred John and Grace Heisey Olson. On March 9, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family, Jesus welcomed Deborah at the Gates of Heaven.
Deborah moved to Pace, Florida during the 1970’s from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Over the years, she enjoyed her work at Baptist Healthcare in Pensacola as a medical coder and in her younger years at Vanity Fair as a supervisor and trainer at Atmore, Alabama and Milton, Florida locations. At the time of Vanity Fair’s closing in Milton, Deborah was honored to be chosen as a team member to establish a new plant and supervise training of employees in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico. Deborah attended Olive Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida. She volunteered at Santa Rosa Kids House in Milton, Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola and participated in the nonprofit organization, Dress a Girl Around the World.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Karen and Kathi Olson.
Left to cherish Deborah’s beautiful memories will be her former husband and lifelong friend, Jim Blakeney; one son, Ryan Blakeney (Suna); five siblings: Scott Lowden (Wendy), Viola Olson, Laura Silsbee, Donald Lowden (Jowanda), Beth Anderson (Jerry); one granddaughter, Alyssa Blakeney, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
