Beloved wife of the late Robert Waldman. Devoted mother of Stanley Waldman and wife Nancy of Dartmouth, Helaine Broderick and husband Thomas of Chatham, Barbara Waldman of Watertown, and Pamela Winters and husband Edward of Lexington. Loving sister of Teri Felder of Harrison, New York. Adored grandmother of Arielle, Benjamin, Simone, Alexander, Philip, Leah, Julianna, and Bradley.
Claire lived a life full of creativity and helping others; born to parents Dora (Fleischer) and Benjamin Cohen in Boston in 1927. As a young girl, the family lived in Boston where she graduated from Girls Latin School in 1944. Growing up, her mother taught her to play the piano, a skill she later passed on to her own family. She studied Biology at Northeastern University, graduating in 1947 in the school's first women’s class.
Claire married Robert in 1949 and soon after, the couple moved to Sharon where they raised their four children. There she worked as a phlebotomist for Dr. Herschfus for several decades. While working and raising her family, she was also president of Organization of Rehabilitation through Training (ORT). Later in life, the pair enjoyed traveling and embarked on several adventures together.
Claire was always active in the community; her social calendar booked far in advance with activities and outings of the many social groups she belonged to. Splitting the year between Stoughton and Delray Beach, Florida she loved spending time with family, friends and neighbors who were all so important to her.
A private graveside service will be held. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
