Mark Layne Howell, 73, of Baytown, Texas passed away on March 16, 2020. He was born in Houston, Texas on December 5, 1946 to O.J. and Geraldine Howell. Mark worked for the Lubrizol Corporation for thirty years in the tank farm and then as a foreman. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1965 and was drafted in 1967 where he was deployed to Korea. He enjoyed spending time with family, going to the gun range, watching football, NASCAR, and westerns, and learning about World War II.
He is preceded in death by his parents, O.J. “Dixie” and Geraldine Howell; and brother Gene Howell. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Doris Howell; son, Monte Layne Howell; step-daughter, Becky Wade and husband Tim; step-daughter, Krisha Gregory; granddaughter, Krysinda Gregory Tyler and husband Robbie; grandson, Joe Wade; brother, Ken T. Howell and wife Linda; plus numerous cousins.
