Beloved mother and grandmother
Maryanne Blaine (nee Fornino) of Westerleigh, loving mother and grandmother, passed away March 16, 2020. She was the beloved wife to the late William R. Blaine Sr., cherished sister to Joseph and Joy and the late Joseph. She was a devoted mother to Christine (O'Sullivan) and William R. Jr.
Maryanne was born and raised in Staten Island by Nellie and Joseph Fornino. She attended Immaculate Conception, St. Peter's High School, SUNY Geneseo (B.A.), NYU (Master's) and CSI for six year degree. She was a special education speech pathologist for junior high school students at IS 61. She spent some of her career at IS45 and PS 19 .
She was an avid reader who enjoyed the crossword puzzle, watching the Hallmark Channel, game shows and making photo albums. She loved playing with her grandchildren and grand dogs. She was cared for by her home health aide, Alice Holmes. She was unquestioning in her faith and her adoration of the Blessed Mother. She would always put everyone else's needs before her own and always saw the good in everyone.
She is survived by her children, Christine and William, her three grandchildren, Henry, Mia and Gianna, three grand dogs, Bailey, BJ and KC, her sisters, Josephine and Joy, a sister-in-law, Helen Fornino, Aunt Madeline (Sissy), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Joe, her husband, William and her brother, Joseph.
Private viewing followed by Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday, March 19 at 10 a.m.
We will be holding a memorial service in the future in light of the health pandemic.
