He was preceded in death by both his first and second wives, Mary Spencer Wilson and Barbara Switzer Wilson.
He is survived by his loving sister Billie Best, originally from Asheville, NC; two sons, Jeffrey S. Wilson, Chattanooga, TN and Scott S. Wilson, Corona, California; daughter, Wendy Wilson Starnes, Chattanooga, TN; stepson, Colonel Jefferson G. Hawkins, USAF; He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson was born in Asheville, NC and was a 1948 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War era serving on three aircraft carriers, the USS F. D. Roosevelt, USS Coral Sea, and the USS Midway.
Mr. Wilson enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the healthcare field. He served successively as Vice President – Human Resources, Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette, PA; Vice President Corporate Services, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Rockford, IL, and Chicago, IL. He then retired as Vice President – Administration, Swedish Covenant Hospital, Chicago, IL.
Interment with military honors will be scheduled for a later date at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404.
