Hudson, NH. and Old Town, ME. - James E. Goodie, 69, passed after a brief illness on March 20, 2020, in Bangor, Maine. He was born in Old Town, Maine on October 19, 1950, the son of Joseph and Elaine (Hamilton) Goodie.
Jim graduated from Old Town High School and served proudly in the US Army for 2 tours in Vietnam. When he returned, he graduated from EMVTI, New Hampshire College and went on to get his master's degree in business from UNH. He worked for Digital Equipment Corp for over 20 years. He worked for Curvature until his retirement in 2019.
Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, papa, son, brother and uncle for his sense of humor, willingness to always lend a hand and wise advice. He loved to travel with his wife, from day trips in the Mustang to cruises. He spent much time hunting and fishing with family and enjoyed sports, especially the New York Yankees. He was known for his "ditties" that he would write for special occasions. He also enjoyed woodworking and family get-togethers.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Goodie and brother and sister in law, David and Suzanne (Day) Goodie.
Jim is survived by his mother; his loving wife, Diane (Day) Goodie; his daughter and son in law, Michelle and Frank Vieira of Hudson, NH; his son and daughter in law, Randy and Samantha Goodie of Dover, NH; his two granddaughters, Victoria and Chelsea Vieira and his two grandsons, James and Hunter Goodie; his brothers, Joe and wife Penny Goodie of Levant, Maine, Larry, and wife Laurie Goodie, of Old Town, Maine and Tom and wife Anne Goodie of Glenburn, Maine; a special uncle and aunt Phil and Betty Goodie, Rotunda West, Florida; and many loved uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
