Virginia (Healey) LaDuke, age 78, of Douglasville, Georgia, formerly Plattsburgh, New York, passed away due to complications of metastatic kidney cancer on March 21st, 2020. She was born June 16th, 1941 in Malone, New York. Virginia resided with her daughter, Janine (LaDuke) Dodd, in Douglasville, Georgia at the time of her death. She enjoyed playing games on her computer and putting together Thomas Kinkade puzzles to keep her mind sharp. She was very giving to her friends and would always make herself readily available any time of the day or night to those who would call upon her for help. Virginia felt that education was the key to success in life and achieved a BS and MBA for herself. As a woman of faith, she lived and embodied her Catholic morals, beliefs and values. She also sang in many church choirs over her lifetime. When she lived in Boca Raton, Florida, she was an alto in Our Lady of Lourdes Church choir and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.
She is predeceased by her mother, Lillian (Shatraw) Healey; father, Herbert Healey; and brother, Richard Ciccarone.
Virginia is survived by her children, Janine (LaDuke) Dodd of Douglasville, GA and James LaDuke Sr. of Dannemora, NY; sister, Janet Mostyn and nephew Jonathan Mostyn of Winter Park, FL; ex-husband Albert LaDuke of Dannemora, NY; son-in-law, Calvin Dodd of Douglasville, GA; daughter-in-law, Mary LaDuke of Dannemora, NY; grandsons, James M. LaDuke Jr. and Alexander Dodd.
Private services will be held in the Summer of 2020 as well as burial in the family plot at St. George’s Catholic Church in Burke, NY.
