Danny graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1971. His personality led him to be chosen twice as “class favorite”. Danny was a favorite of faculty and his many teachers even though he preferred social activity over academics. He also participated in football as a freshman and scored a lone touchdown as wide receiver in his #85 jersey that he kept for years.
He had a lifelong love of music and was a gifted musician, playing the guitar and bass guitar. In high school, he and classmates formed a band and played the greatest hits of that era.
Danny retired from Marek Brothers in 2018 and was a resident of North Houston Transitional Care facility until the time of his death. While there, he was a much-loved resident.
Danny was a gentle soul who loved his family, music, animals and his father’s bar-b-ques and his mother’s home cooking.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Yanowski, brother Dennis Yanowski (Cay), sisters Brenda Yanowski, Kathy Hetmaniak (Chris) niece Klaire Hetmaniak and nephew John Hetmaniak, many cousins and old friends.
The family is forever grateful to Marek Brothers Company, and his co-workers for their support and companionship. We are also grateful to Fannie Dobbins for her loving care of Danny, and the doctors, nurses and staff at North Houston Transitional Care, and family and friends who showed care and concern for Danny through the years.
For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
