Passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital on March 23, 2020 after suffering complications from a serious illness. Kami was born on August 28, 1984 in Wenatchee, WA to Dennis Shales and Stacey Pope. She attended schools in Washington and Oregon before her family relocated to Moses Lake, WA where she graduated from Warden High School in 2002. She lived and worked in Spokane and Moses Lake areas before meeting the love of her life, Charlie Erickson in 2006. They married on February 24, 2007 in Moses Lake, WA and began fulfilling their dream of having a family with the birth of their daughter, Grace Christine in 2008 and their son Noah Charles in 2010. Kami’s love of her family was evident in everything that she said and did. Charlie and Kami moved to Hartline in 2008 and she embraced living in a small community and made countless friends that became a part of her family. Kami was involved in Hartline Days, school and sports activities, Cub Scouts and the Almira 4-H club. She made sure if there was something her kids wanted to be involved in, she would be right there with them, working with them and cheering them on. Kami, by nature was a caregiver. When she was younger, she moved in with her Grandma Ruby to take care of her as she dealt with a tragic illness. For the last year, Kami has been caring for Charlie’s grandma Vonnie, in their Hartline home. That is the perfect example of who Kami was. Family meant everything to her. Kami is survived by her husband and best friend, Charlie Erickson and their children Grace and Noah, her parents, Dennis Shales and Stacey Neal, her Grandmothers, Patricia Fisher, Linda Shales and Vonnie Kelley, her sister Cassie (John) Martin, brothers Joshua and Nick Karas and Ashton Sawyer. She was also survived by her in laws Gary and Chris Erickson, Kara Erickson, Stormy Hall, Natalie Ragan as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Kami was preceded in death by her grandparents Burrell Pope, Ruby Pope and William (Papa Bill) Shales. A Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at a later date due to state restrictions regarding the coronavirus. When the date is announced, there will also be an announcement of the memorial locations. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.stratefuneral.com for the Erickson family. STRATE FUNERAL HOME, DAVENPORT, WA is caring for the family.
