On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, a proud Air Force and a grateful nation mourn the loss of Albert Lawrence Mullins, Jr., 70, known to many as “Al.” He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth (Ezell) and Albert Lawrence Mullins, Sr.
Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elizabeth; his daughters, Kathryn (Russ) Simpson and Kelly (Steven) Newell; his adopted children, Nikki, Todd, Christopher, and Joshua; as well as stepchildren, Jonathan, Allison, Matthew, Rachel, Hannah, and Stephen. His grandchildren, Allie and Jacob Simpson, Liam, Emma, and Laura, and brothers and sisters, Linda Gilliland, Pat (Gale), Mike (Tonya), and Sally (Greg) Padgett, alongside countless nieces and nephews will also think lovingly on his memory.
Al joined the United States Air Force and retired as Technical Sergeant in 1991 after 20 years of service. He will forever be known for his affinity for corny jokes and Alabama football. His Christ-like love for each and everyone he encountered is his greatest legacy.
Arrangements are currently being addressed by the White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home in Montgomery, Alabama. Due to the ongoing viral crisis, there will not be a memorial service, however, a celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining.
I believe in love, even when I am alone.
I believe in God, even when He is silent.
