His mother: Barbara Ramirez, Grandparents: Robert & Josephine Ramirez, Aunts: Cynthia Ramirez and Julie Ramirez remain to cherish the memories of this wonderful young man who God blessed them with for 31 years.
Benjamin, or as his family and friends called him, Benji, was always a happy and friendly baby, very curious, thoughtful about what he did and analytical. As he grew his friendliness continued as he would often invite anyone and everyone he met to come over to the house, we could see his loving kindness at a very young age. He loved reading and having stories read to him, he loved trains and building with Legos at which he was very imaginative. From youth to adulthood, he loved the holidays especially Thanksgiving and Christmas and he would start planning months in advance what he would bake, his favorite item to make for his family were his famous chocolate chip scones.
He jumped into school from the beginning and we found that God blessed him with great knowledge and understanding as he excelled in his schoolwork and grades. He attended Valley Presbyterian elementary and went on to Hillcrest Middle School and Highschool (now Heritage Christian School) and graduated from high school as class Salutatorian. He was accepted to UCLA after high school and attended for 1 year, from there he transferred to Azusa Pacific University and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Management and graduated Cum Laude.
Benji was raised in a Christian home, his great-grandfather was a Pastor with his own church and his grandmother was a very godly women who was always serving the Lord, he was taught about God and Jesus from the moment of his birth and was dedicated to God as a baby. He continued to learn about the Lord as he received a Christian education throughout his life and he made the decision to be baptized in high school, he chose Mr. Robert Norris to baptize him during chapel at Hillcrest high school with his family present to watch this very special occasion. Benji was always in Church from the day he was born and attended a few different churches with his family before settling into Shepherd Church at the age of 10, as he attended and grew at Shepherd he also started to volunteer, something he enjoyed doing and had a heart for, he volunteered in the Children’s ministry with the pre-k kids, also with the Harvest Festival and he also volunteered for VBS and helping with the many activities. Throughout his life Benji read his Bible every single day and prayed every day, there was not a question from the Bible that he could not answer and no matter life’s difficulties he knew the Lord was always with him and held tightly to his faith.
Although very analytical and great with numbers from an early age, Benji was also very creative at heart. He had a wonderful voice and sang in his high school choir, but the most special moment was when he sang Copacabana at his 18th birthday party. He loved drawing and created drawings for his family members on special occasions like birthdays and he loved making his own birthday cards for us, his special words and pictures on these cards will always be a constant reminder of the time and care he took to give us something special. He was also creative in writing and was constantly writing his own journals, short stories, as well as writing on-line fan fiction which developed into a large following of fans that read his work. He shared much of his time with his dear friends, Adria, Scott (aka Kaiba) and Lemon, we are so happy that he had this devoted group of friends that knew him completely and accepted him, he loved them very much and was blessed to have them all in his life!
Benji was always very loving and never afraid to express his love, every day he would tell his family “I love you” and he was never shy about giving hugs and kisses and complementing us. When he asked about your day, he meant it. His genuine love and compassion were what was most special about him, he always knew his family loved him and we always knew that he loved us! What he wanted most in life was for his entire family and friends to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved so we could all be together in Heaven one day and now we dream and have the assurance that we will see him there one day again.
