Was born on November 9th 1946 in Lancing, Michigan to Ray & Frances Brownridge. He passed away on 3/22/2020 in Hillsboro, Oregon. At an early age he was brought out west where he gained a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and camping in the Pacific Northwest. He shared his love of the outdoors with family and friends.
He attended Grant High School in Portland, Oregon where he participated in Baseball until graduating. Class of 1965. After graduation, he joined the US Army and served within the US and abroad during the Vietnam War as an Air Defense Radar repairman on the NIKE and HAWK systems. In his travels, he also spent time in Europe with the 10th Artillery group. Upon completion of his service in the Army he departed his final duty station, Fort Bliss, Texas and returned to the Pacific Northwest. Where he joined the US Postal Service in 1973 and worked as a Mail handler in the Portland Post Office on Hoyt st. He met the love of his life at the Post Office. Patricia and Bruce were married in 1984. They added agate hunting to their outdoor adventures. Later, Bruce’s hobbies included faceting gemstones and making jewelry. He retired in 2004 after 31 years with the Post Office.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Brownridge, Sister Rayola, Sons Brett, Ray, Kent, and daughter Jamie, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren with one on the way.
A military honors service will be held at a later date at Willamette National Cemetery.
