John “Hap” Edward Kenna was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on September 16, 1948. He attended St. John’s Academy and Jamestown Senior High School. He graduated from Jamestown College in 1971 with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. John started and owned Kenna Power Sales, Inc. since May, 2004.
John is preceded in death by his wife Marcia “Marcy”, his parents William S. “Bill” & Netta Kenna, brother William L. “Bill” and sister in law Delores Kenna, brother Daniel J. and sister in law Martha Kenna, nephew Thomas Kenna, along with grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
John leaves behind his son, John (Kathryn) Kenna in Grand Island, Nebraska, his daughter Heather (Brian) Shelton in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Grandchildren: John “Jack”, Emily, Molly and Luke Kenna, Hayden Jones, Mason and Austin Shelton. His sister Mary (Marcus) Zander in Mandan, North Dakota as well as several nieces and nephews.
John was a member of the Littleton United Methodist Church. He also served as past president of Littleton United Soccer Association.
Service will be held on September 19th, 2020 at 2:00p.m at Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd. Centennial, CO 80121. Immediately following the service, please join the family on a short walk to the cremation garden where John and Marcy are buried. We will then return to Olinger for food and cocktails to properly celebrate Hap's life.
