Celebrating the Life of a Godly Man, we call him hubby, brother, uncle, Elder, and friend.
Wallace passed on peacefully in his sleep and entered into the glorious presence of his Lord Jesus Christ. Left to cherish the memory of Wallace are his wife of 49 years, Hermia; older brother Ye Zhong in China; sisters Bigian Ye of Sacramento, and Diana Wong of Vancouver B. C.; brother-in laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his oldest brother Longfei Ye in China.
Born in Canton, China, Wallace graduated from LaSalle College in Hong Kong and became a born-again Christian in 1953. He travelled to the US for his post-secondary education in 1961 and received an engineering degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as well as a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Columbia Bible College in South Carolina (now known as Columbia International University). He eventually settled in Seattle in 1969 and worked as a Civil Engineer in several consulting firms, and as a Plans Examiner and Bridge Engineer of King County until his retirement in 1993.
A devoted husband, Wallace committed his life to God and followed Christ as His disciple. He served as a long-time Chairman of the China Bible Seminary North America Board. His life-long ministry has been with Seattle Chinese Alliance Church (SCAC) since the pioneer days in the early 1970’s and he was ordained as Elder. He was involved in a multitude of ministries and instrumental in achieving several milestones during the growth of the church and helped build the church into a vibrant spiritual community. He devoted his engineering skills in the purchase, remodel and expansions of the SCAC buildings. Above all, glorifying God was his greatest joy and it was evident to everyone around him. His guiding life principle was "To know Him and to make Him known."
Wallace was known for his fondness for good food, effusive humor and the deepest capacity for kindness. He also loved to sing and he loved people. He was a joyful and generous man who was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. The precious memories of him will remain in our hearts forever. Glory be to God.
Wallace’s memorial service will be postponed until a later date. Until then you can post a memory on this digital memorial site.
