Annavee worked in the aircraft industry during World War II in support of the war effort. She met her husband, Jimmy Houston, a WWII Army Air Corp veteran there. Jimmy and Annavee spend many years as an Army family with many postings including Edwards AFB, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Georgia and two tours in Europe. Mom and Dad enjoyed travel and camping. This included a sojourn on a Moto Guzzi Motorcycle in Mexico (Mom insisted on lodging at hotels for this trip). Following retirement of Jimmy Houston from the Army, Annavee and Jimmy Houston moved to Tulsa Oklahoma where they lived until the death of Jimmy in 1983. Following the death of her husband, Annavee moved to Pleasant Valley, Missouri.
Annavee was active in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church including a Mission Trip to China. Annavee is survived by two brothers and one sister, her sons Arthur Houston and Daniel Houston as well as many grandchildren
Memorial services will be held at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Chapel at a later date pending resolution of the COVID-19 Crisis. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Memorial Park next to her husband, Jimmy B. Houston.
Memorial donations may be made in Annavee’s name to the Operation Breakthrough charity in Kansas City, Missouri.
