Donald James Franchilli was born in Cleveland Ohio, in July 16, 1945, and grew up in Brooklyn in Sheepshead Bay, with his parents Yolanda and Constantine, and his sister Valerie. He went to Brooklyn Academy for high school, and LIU for college. Donald served in the Navy after college, and later began his lifelong career in the insurance industry. After working for Liberty Mutual, Donald met and married his wife Linda Dambassis in 1983, and next year he went on to start his own business United Brokerage Services. Donald and Linda had two children, Alexander in 1986, and Nicholas in 1992. After 35 years running his own business, he sold it in 2019 and spent his last year working at World Insurance. Donald had a passion for sailing, skiing, and driving cars. Donald is survived by his wife and two children. Donald affected the lives of so many people, especially his adoring wife, two children, and his sister Valerie and her family, Chris Pierot, Jacques, Eric, and Vanessa. Don's love of life filled his family and friends with joy and purpose, and his unique ability to bring people from all over the world together led to memories that will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who was fortunate to know him. The void of his passing cannot possibly be filled, but his spirit will fill the hearts of his family and friends with the fullness that he lived his life with every day. If you are so moved, the family has designated HealthWell's COVID-19 fund for memorial contributions in Donald's name.
