Sal was born in Passaic, NJ to Anthony and Mildred Farenga on August 28th 1933. Sal enlisted in the US Air Force in 1953, and spent most of his enlistment working in aircraft and engine maintenance in Cheyenne Washington. Sal loved his time in the Air Force and was proud to have been in the U.S. Military.
Sal had a long career as a senior buyer with Timeplex & Globe Tek Corporations retiring in 2012.
It was rare that you would not see Sal with a smile or telling a joke. Every family gathering started with him telling a joke and he could keep everyone laughing for hours.
Sal and his wife, Chris, spent many fond years with family and friends in “Sunset Manor” Lavallette, NJ, enjoying crabbing, long beach days, and magnificent sunsets.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Gale and leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years Christina Farenga; his brother Robert “Bobby” (Joyce); his step-children, Carmela Inneo-Nash (Steve), Joseph Inneo (Louann), and his children, Michael Farenga (Lynniece), Patti Beck (Jay), Debbie Farenga, Barbara Farenga, Stacy Corsi, and Wayne Farenga. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Sal will be greatly missed. Private services were being held under the direction of the LaMonica Memorial Home. Please remember Sal and his family in your prayers until we can gather to celebrate his life at a future date.
