Beloved husband of over 35 years to JoAnne (Mastrobuono), loving father of sons Robert Jr (wife Doris), Joseph (wife Sheila), Jeffrey (wife Annette) and daughters, Colleen Ann La Bean (Mike), Patricia Parr, Teresa Helsel (husband Rick), Denise Domain, Renee Weimer, and step-daughters Cynthia Allen and Judith Hess (husband Keith). Cherished son of the late Jeffrey and Lillian (Jelinek) Kristynik. Proud grandfather and great-grandfather of many. Adored Uncle and friend.
Bob graduated from St. Thomas High School and maintained relationships with his classmates throughout the years. Bob’s family moved to Houston when he was a young child where his parents owned and operated a successful nursery for many years. It was there Bob developed a love for horticulture, and it was his joy to manage the nursery after his parents retired. Bob had a long, successful career as an Auto Damage Appraiser with State Farm Insurance. He and Jo Anne made the most of their retirement spending many weekends travelling the small towns and villages in Texas Hill Country antiquing and sampling Texas cuisine. Bob was recognized throughout the community as Master of the BBQ pit. He was a member of the University of Houston “Cougar Cookers” and enjoyed participating in BBQ competitions at the Houston Rodeo and other regional cook-offs. Friends and relatives all say that Bob never met a stranger and was the kindest, most generous and loving man they ever met. His bright smile and cheerful disposition leaves a void that will never be filled.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15
