Joe was born in Huntington, Long Island, NY on October 7, 1951 to the late Joseph II and Jean (Gildersleeve) Satiro. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, doing two tours of duty in Vietnam, before his honorable discharge. Joe continued his life at sea after the military by moving on to work for Electric Boat and retiring as an Electrical Test Technician.
Joe was always known to speak his mind and tell it like it is. His kind heart and warm smile were loved by all who knew him. His love of classic rock music was legendary, having attended countless concerts from the time he was young well into his retirement. His affinity for Aerosmith was unrivaled. Joe could often be found at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle, or playing slots on his phone. He was affectionately nicknamed “Cookie Monster” by his children for his love of chocolate chip cookies. Nothing in the world brought a bigger smile to his face or gleam to his eyes than being in the presence of his grand and great grandchildren and his “Grand Dogs”.
Joseph is survived by a son, Joseph IV; daughters Celeste and her wife Marci Senior-Satiro, and Victoria and her husband Erik Trenouth; grandchildren Kayla, Alexis, Joseph, Anthony, and Shannon; great-grandchildren Kash and Simone; and seven brothers and sisters.
Joseph is pre-deceased by both mothers of his children Lisa (Pellish) Satiro (wife) and Eileen Jennings (ex-wife); granddaughter Marissa (Mama Jean) Satiro; and siblings Wayne Satiro and Joanne Satiro.
A memorial service and burial will be announced at a later date due to the current health crisis.
